I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world. -John 16:33
Yes, earth is full of destruction, havoc, sin, chaos, hopelessness, but through Jesus…we have hope.
It is difficult for every single one of us to see the horrible world around us, but we can’t let that change us. We can’t let satan get to us, we have to follow Jesus Christ. Not only to give others a Christ-like example, but to live our lives according to His purpose! Our world is hopeless, but let’s share love to it. It’s the only way. That verse is so strong. Jesus tells us to take heart because He has OVERCOME the world. This world! This awful, horrible, tragic, world; but we can’t view it that way because when we do we are focusing on sin rather than the price Jesus paid for us. Jesus came to this earth, died, defeated: sin, death and the grave. He overcame this world and left His spirit to live inside of each one of us. Once we choose to follow Christ, we choose to let that Spirit renew our minds, hearts, souls. It takes work, action, faith, perseverance, and courage. But it also takes hope. Hope that we might not be able to change the entire world, but with God anything is possible. With God we can change one person’s world by showing them to Christ. There is hope in that. There is hope in the fact that we are granted the gift of eternity! After this life, God gives us eternal life spent in perfection at the beautiful feet of our Lord. There is hope in that.
In Christ alone, my hope is found.
Don’t let satan let you think that there isn’t hope. I know it’s hard but ask God to show you this positivity, joy, happiness, love, kindness you are longing for. Because we shouldn’t search for it in this world, we should search for those things in Jesus. He will deliver them to us. And once He does, we can deliver them to others on this earth.
Here’s a sermon that might help you as well!
Pray about it. I will be praying.
God bless!
Our generation, our world, our people…We can make a difference. We hear that all the time from: sermons, camps, speakers, pastors, songs. There’s a reason we are hearing that everywhere. There’s a purpose. God is telling us something. He’s telling us to change our ways, change the ways of the world, and make an impact. Our world is broken and only One can fix it. Let’s show this world who that One is!
Anonymous asked: when i come back from retreats, im all fired up and i all i want to do is priase god. but when i go back to school, i get caught up from all the temptations. is there anyway to prevent this?
Retreats are amazing because we’re surrounded by people full of God’s unfailing love. We are on fire for the Lord, because we feel Him in our hearts, we’re learning about Him, we’re driven by His word but the main part of retreats is we are surrounded by people showing us Christ’s love. When we get home, go back to school, and find ourselves back in the ‘real world’ the problem is that. We think that our old friends, our everyday routine is the ‘real world’ and we have no way out of that. It’s wrong though. You need to reach out to people. Don’t hang out with people who put you into those tempting situations. We have to be the salt and the light of the earth.
“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” -Matthew 5:13-16
Basically what I’m trying to get at is living for Christ is hard. Yes, it’s very hard. He tells that over and over again, how we will be ridiculed by the world and the path to heaven is narrow. But when we live our life for Christ, we have Christ we have God, we have the Holy Spirit living inside of us!! So yes, Satan will try to tempt us with our weaknesses, but we have to be strong. We have to reach out on our own. A church group is a great way to help encourage us and keep us going for the Lord, but when we step out of our Christianity comfort zone, that’s when we truly are the church of God. We have to show people who see us everyday that we have truly changed. Once they see that change in us, that dramatic, radical, life-altering change they will start to ask you questions. That would be an opportunity to show someone how amazing Christ is. Sorry I’ve gotten a little off topic, to answer your question, some ways to prevent this: change your life. Change your everyday routine, change how you act towards people, pray constantly, know that the Lord is walking side by side with you wherever you go. God will help you. You just have to take that step of faith. We change the world by changing ourselves first. I’m praying for you! God bless!! :)
How to change the world:
1. Love God
2. Love Others
3. Keep the cycle running
Anonymous asked: so how exactly do you change the world?
Showing God’s love to the people I encounter. I don’t change the world, God does. I’m just here to serve Him.
I am never going to give up trying to do my little part in helping God’s kingdom.
I’ve always felt that I can make an impact.
Even if it’s just on one person.
I want to share God’s love to as MANY people as I can.
I’m almost done with this campaign.
And whatever I choose to work towards next will be all for His glory also.
Yes I have big dreams. But my God is bigger.
I dream of becoming a missionary nurse. Traveling to wherever God leads me, and helping cure people, showing them comfort and compassion. Kindness and healing. God’s unfailing love.
Right now I’m incapable of doing that, that’s why I have this blog. This campaign. This passion. Because at the moment I’m sedentary, but my heart isn’t.
I intend on making God proud.
So…that’s what I’ll do.
I was driving home from hanging out with my friends after church, and saw a man walking on the road. I drove past him and felt like I should’ve picked him up, so I turned around and went to go see if he needed a ride. He was a little tipsy, but I told him I’d take him wherever he needed to go. He would’ve had to walk probably an hour in 20 degree weather. He got in the car, and was a nice man, kept thanking me. I was scared the entire time, and we talked about how people needed to do things like this more often. So I drove him to his house and his wife was waiting by the door. She walked out and I thought she was going to be angry, but instead she got in my car and gave me the most heart-felt hug, started crying, and was thanking me.
Be brave, not safe.
