Funny God moment:
Two weekends ago, I went to my church winter retreat to Pennsylvania.
It was a good eight hour drive on big charter buses, but still exhausting.
So we arrived at about three in the morning, and everyone was trying to go to bed because we had to wake up at about eight the next morning.
In the midst of trying to fall asleep, I got the hiccups.
Not the normal semi-quiet ones, I had the chest wrenching-hurtful-loud hiccups. Had them for about a good forty minutes, first ten minutes it was funny… Then it just got annoying and painful.
Keep in mind I was in a room with five girls, a very small room. With our two leaders, who also wanted to sleep. So we tried everything from plugging my nose and drinking water to Ashley trying to scare them out of me-neither of those methods work.
Finally, Ashley was like well why don’t we all just pray, so we did.
I started praying, hiccuped once, and then they were gone.
My first reaction was, “Seriously, God, you waited this long and all I had to do was pray” but a few minutes later I was amazed.
It was a simple thing to pray for but nonetheless, He answered.
We often pray for things that we won’t be able to realize He has answered them in a few seconds, but rather a few weeks or months, and then once our prayers are answered we forget who answered them.
That was the first time something like that has happened to me, God answering a prayer that I could see, right there and then.
Suddenly the entire weekend became about prayer for me.
The speaker spoke about the power of prayer, and healing.
God showed me the importance of prayer, and He started it out by giving me the hiccups.
Pretty cool.
Colossians 3:12-17
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, humans and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
For the next week,
whenever you look in the mirror,
think to yourself ‘I am beautiful’
If someone gives you a compliment,
you say thank you- and no arguing about it!
Every night before you go to sleep,
pray that God will help you realize that beauty is on the inside,
and that you are in fact, a gorgeous child of His.
Tell three people a day that they are beautiful just the way they are.
And they don’t need to change one thing about themselves.
Memorize this verse
You are altogether beautiful, my darling;
there is no flaw in you
-Song of Songs 4:7
Reblog this if you’ll do this with me throughout this week!
You are altogether beautiful, my darling;
there is no flaw in you
-Song of Songs 4:7
That ‘happyily ever after ending’
will be us with our King
in heaven forever
with nothing
but
love
Please pray for one of my friends please. She’s losing sight of her faith, and is wanting to seek God but her family is holding her back.
She needs to be reminded that He is good, and will give her strength to get through these rough times.
Just keep her in your prayers please!!
Your blog is a place where people can come for encouragement, uplifting posts and words, somewhere to remind them they are worthy and beautiful
A place to share God’s unfailing love and mercy, his grace and faithfulness.
Somewhere to help them through their troubles, pray for them in trials, and give advice when they need direction.
Reblog this if your blog is all about love.
I have unanswered prayers
I have trouble I wish wasn’t there
And I have asked a thousand ways
That You would take my pain away
am trying to understand
How to walk this weary land
Make straight the paths that crookedly lie
Oh Lord, before these feet of mine
When my world is shaking
Heaven stands
When my heart is breaking
I never leave Your hands
When You walked upon the Earth
You healed the broken, lost, and hurt
I know You hate to see me cry
One day You will set all things right
Your hands
Your hands that shape the world
Are holding me, they hold me still
Your hands that shape the world
Are holding me, they hold me still
I never leave Your hands

How to change the world:
1. Love God
2. Love Others
3. Keep the cycle running
Have you helped anyone today?
Have you shown love to someone who needs it today?
Have you served anyone today?
We’re called to serve, not be served.
Go out, and serve someone who needs it.
Today.
